With a postgraduate degree in Sociology from the Delhi School of Economics, Kanika has spent the last four decades in the not-for-profit sector. After volunteering with SEWA, Delhi and the Ashoka Foundation in the early '80s, she did a stint with the Foundation for Organisational Research (FORE), steering action research studies and consultancies for public sector undertakings in the area of Human Resource Development and Organisational Design. Subsequently, as Executive Director, SRUTI (Society for Rural, Urban & Tribal Initiative), she directed programs in support of grassroots activists across India. Post her full-time role in SRUTI, she served several terms on its board. She also served on the Ethics Committee of Action for Autism. She is currently Programme Advisor and a Trustee of FORRAD (Foundation for Rural Recovery & Development), and Chairperson of The Hunger Project (India).

KANIKA SATYANAND

Shubha, a postgraduate from JNU, is a Founder Member of Samaj Pragati Sahayog (SPS), an NGO based in Central India and was a member of its Executive Committee from 1992 to 1998. She is also one of the directors of Kumbaya, the garment fabrication unit of SPS. She was a Faculty member at the Baba Amte Centre for People’s Empowerment, set up for the capacity building on watershed management. Her unique ability is to bring people together and liaison with administrators, policy makers, donors and resource persons. She has also taught in various schools in Africa and India and written textbooks on Environmental Science for primary schools. She has been a board member of Society for Rural and Tribal Initiatives (SRUTI), an NGO based in Delhi.

SHUBHLAXMI PANDE

A seasoned media specialist with over three decades of work that extends from mainstream media to development communication. An alumna of Jamia Millia Islamia Mass Communication and Research Center (MCRC), Kiran's expertise lies in scripting, directing and producing content across platforms. She has been Executive Producer and Programming Head for a number of broadcast channels in India. As a communications expert, she often engages with DFP - from ideation to writing proposals and directing. Her expertise has been an integral and invaluable part of Green Hub’s annual 3-day Festival at Tezpur, Assam. She is currently an independent filmmaker and content developer.

KIRAN MITTAL

Filmmaker, development strategist, communicator and youth trainer, Shibani is the Chief Executive Officer of Dusty Foot Foundation. Since 1991, she has been part of several award-winning films, including The Last Migration and Shores of Silence that won the Panda award. She has also worked in various capacities in the development sector. She was Head - Communications and Campaigns, IFAW-WTI, and post 2010, was Executive Director, SRUTI (Society for Rural, Urban & Tribal Initiative). Post 2014, she revisioned and helped expand the PVRNest Childscapes program for children at risk. Shibani continues to work on independent assignments and films. She is also the voice behind a number of DFP’s films.

SHIBANI CHAUDHURY

A naturalist with a keen interest in writing and photography, Sanjay is Founder Trustee of Titli Trust,  a nature conservation not-for-profit organisation devoted to studying and protecting India's lesser known flora and fauna. He works primarily on grass-root conservation, human-wildlife conflict and livelihoods in the Himalayas. He has authored numerous books and technical papers on amphibians and reptiles, birds, butterflies and moths and other Indian wildlife.
