Vijender has been working as a cameraperson and technical coordinator for Dusty Foot since February 2010. Through a series of apprenticeships and workshops with different filmmakers, Vijender has had wide-ranging experience as a cameraperson.
In 2007 Vijender worked with Abhivyakti Media for Development, Nasik, and filmed extensively in Narmada Valley (MP), Maharashtra and Punjab covering issues of displacement, SEZ and water crisis. In 2008 he did Camera internship with NDTV in Outdoor Broadcast (OB) and News Camera Department.
Vijender has a deep passion for camera work and constantly strives to get better. He enjoys taking on challenges and pushes himself to get the best possible visual. He loves sports, watching films and listening to music.
Sumit joined Dusty Foot in August 2009. He works as a Video Editor and Cameraperson. Sumit‘s interest in filmmaking was ignited during his initial days at Manzil, an NGO working on youth empowerment. In 2007 he got an opportunity to work with Abhivyakti Media for Development, Nasik ,where he got a first hand exposure to displacement issues related to the Narmada Dam. He was also a recipient of a’ Youth Leadership Fellowship’ in 2008 from Youth collective, Delhi, where he made a film ‘Colours of Water’.
Sumit has an inquisitive mind, and believes that films can be a tool for change. He also has a keen interest in environment issues. In his spare time he takes film workshops at Manzil.
Sumit loves travelling and listening to music.
Shibani or ‘Bani’ as we all call her, is an integral part of the Dusty Foot team. Even if we try, we just can’t do without her! Shibani and Rita have worked together on ‘The Last Migration’ and ‘Shores of Silence’ – the two Panda Award (Green Oscar) winning films from India, before Dusty Foot was established. Currently Shibani is with the Wildlife Trust of India – heading their regional communications division. Shibani has a keen eye for detail and with her years of experience in the wildlife world, brings in a lot of depth to any our projects. She works closely with us on all our scripts and is the voice of most our films. Shibani is also a photographer, loves the outdoors, listening to music, driving long distances and has a big ‘Green Thumb’!
Bani is currently based in Guwahati, Assam, India.
Arjun Sen popularly known as Aj, is a musician and composer. Aj has a knack of getting under the skin of our projects and coming out with just the right sound and feel for the tracks. Great to brainstorm and work with Aj handles music for all the key Dusty Foot Projects.
Besides composing music for short films and documentaries, Aj also has a band of his own, HFT, which is into alternative music. Recently HFT came out with their album ‘Acquired Senses’.
He is a regular at the Buddy Guy’s legends club in Chicago, USA.
He has played along side some of the most remarkable blues players, including: Sam Cockerel James Cotton, James Wheeler to name a few. He also is part of the legendary Indian rock band – The Great Society.
Aj is currently based in Bir, Himachal Pradesh, India.
Payal has been involved with wildlife film and education work for over 10 years now. Since the last 6 years she has focused on wildlife and conservation education as her main line of work. She has been a part of several international education teams that have taught issues on tigers, hoolock gibbons, amphibians, primates etc to teachers from Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bhutan and in several places across India. Currently she is a freelance trainer with Wildlife Conservation Society (USA) and Zoo Outreach (India) in their ‘Teachers for Tigers’ program in India. She was the first person from India to be selected as a C.V. Star fellow to Bronx Zoo by WCS for further training in wildlife education.
Payal also runs her own wildlife workshops called ‘Go Wild’ and has conducted these workshops with children as well as teachers at various centers in Hyderabad, Delhi, Tiger National Parks like the Periyar Tiger Reserve, Kalakad-munduthrai Tiger Reserve, and Pench National Park, air force schools in Coimbatore and Bangalore, and internationally in Bangladesh. (2002-2007).

Nina is a filmmaker, scriptwriter and editor based in Bangalore, India. She is a founder/partner of elephant corridor; a film collective that makes documentaries on environment and human right issues. Pooja, a graduate of MCRC, Jamia University, New Delhi, Puja has worked on a diverse range of film and telvision programs as a freelance editor over the last 6 years. Pooja has a great feel for visuals and sound, and makes any footage work into a good sequence. What makes it interesting to work with Pooja is her keen understanding of the storyline and a open attitude to discussing the edit. Highly independent, Pooja has an interesting style and rhythm to her editing, and an amazing stamina – sitting for hours on the edits. She has worked with Dusty Foot on several projects over the last three years and we have to make sure we book her in advance as she has no free time! When not editing Pooja loves traveling and watching Bollywood films.

Madhyama Subramanian, known mainly as Maddy, so much so that she almost forgets that her name is Madhyama, graduated from the National Institute of Design in 2004 with specialisation in film and video communication. Having worked at Moving Images, Delhi and The Energy and Resources Institute, Delhi, (2004 – 2008), she is currently working as a freelancer. Maddy scripts, directs and edits films, mainly on issues related to the environment and sustainable development. She also does graphic design and has designed logos, websites, book covers, posters and publicity material for various NGOs. Currently she is also picking up Flash and Dreamweaver and wants to expand her range of work into the interactive media zone. Traveling, people stories, films, music, food and high voltage enthusiasm for life give Maddy the ultimate high. Quick learner, fast thinker, dedicated to fun, deadlines and quality, Maddy is a great Free Foot to team up with and have a great time!

Sidhartha has his own design company for corporate communications – MediaKen Productions. He has been associated with Dusty Foot right from our first production ‘Under the Sun’. With a strong grip on both 3d and 2d graphic work and animation, Sidharth is of immense value to any project. With an exceptional ability to understand concepts and translate them into easy graphic and animation, Sidharth is always great to work with. Apart from design Sidharth directs films and television programs and dreams of settling down next to a river, amidst the mountains.
