Saving the Wild - Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation

Public Service Broadcasting Trust (PSBT)

2016   |   27mins 34secs

The film takes an in-depth view of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation in one of the prime wildlife habitats of India – Kaziranga, Assam. Being a highly specialized field, it requires support in terms of training and knowledge sharing. Center for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC) along with the forest department has been rescuing animals, especially orphaned or stranded ones for the last 12 years. Many of these have been successfully hand-raised and rehabilitated back in the wild with help from veterinary doctors. A job full of rigour, patience and sometimes multiple dangers, the film brings out unusual stories and places them in the context of the larger issues surrounding wildlife conservation in India. The film has won multiple awards and has been screened at festivals nationally and internationally.
