Deepor Beel, also spelled Dipor Bil is the only Ramsar-listed wetland in Assam, is recognized for its unique aquatic ecosystem and biodiversity.This permanent freshwater lake, formed from a former channel of the Brahmaputra River, is now facing significant challenges and is at risk of extinction.
