Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities

DFP has been assigned to design the Communication strategy and media campaigns for the GCF funded project on Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities.

UNDP, in collaboration with Global Climate Fund, deployed the Enhancing Climate Resilience of India’s Coastal Communities project to work on strengthening the national level planning and decision-making system on ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) by undertaking on-ground interventions in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Odisha. These three states are highly dependent on the ecological health of coastal ecosystems for their livelihoods.

The project will work at national, state, and community levels to co-finance the targeted activities benefitting over 10 million people in 12 districts. The project operations are supported by MoEFCC and aims to contribute towards the achievement of climate priorities outlined in India’s National Action Plan on Climate Change of 2008, the State Action Plans, and the commitments outlined in India’s Nationally Determined Contribution of 2015.
